John Cook and Todd Bishop quit the Seattle P-I

By Marcelo Calbucci

We usually don't write about people joining or leaving startup, but when you are talking about the most known and read reporters in town covering VC, Startups and Tech you got to write something.

Brier Dudley, from the Seattle Times, just told us that John Cook and Todd Bishop are leaving the Seattle P-I to the Puget Sound Business Journal. It's a big surprise because they are going from an "old media" to another "old media". Maybe the PSBJ is trying to create a new image for itself since noone that I know in the Tech-Startup space reads it. John and Todd would certainly bring a lot of readership.

The PSBJ has also been featuring more and more articles on Startups. I've been contacted quite a few times on the last few months by them for contact information on this startup, or that organization.

Well, we are looking forward for what they are going to be doing and maybe some future integration with the Seattle 2.0 blog. :)

Psst, Seattle P-I, you can syndicate the content of this blog for free.

Wow John Cook has been with the PI... forever! That's pretty big news :( Best of luck to John and congrats to the PSBJ for scoring an excellent journalist.

Marcelo thanks for the post. We are moving from the P-I to the PSBJ. But we are going to be building a technology news site, with new features that we hope engages the community in new ways. This was a great way for me to do something more entrepreneurial with the support of a profitable news organization. Stay tuned for more details. As you can imagine, Todd and I are really excited about this opportunity. Of course, we welcome your feedback as we build this new site.
