| Founder's Co-Op: New Seattle early-stage investorBy Marcelo Calbucci |
Seattle finally has a really early-stage investment group: Founder's Co-Op. The new investment group was created by Andy Sack and Chris DeVore, both serial entrepreneurs and founders of Judy's Book.
First of all, contrary to a lot of investors in town, Andy and Chris are putting their money where their mouth is. No talk, real actions. Second, this group is quite unique on its approach because they create a founders equity pool, which means everybody participating on that program on the same year will have a share on all other companies participating as well.
This approach is interesting because, according to them, it'll foster collaboration between funded startups. Although, the flip-side is that too much collaboration between startups can be distracting and prevent startups from collaborating with other more established companies, but they probably know that already.
Congrat's to Andy and Chris on this new project and expect full support from Seattle 2.0!
